It’s been 83 days since the 2022/23 season concluded at Westfield Lane with the victory over Goole (I haven’t been counting I swear!!) and just like that, the summer hiatus is over and football is back!!
That’s right, it’s time to start preparing for the 2023/24 season which kicks off in just under a months time and it all gets underway tomorrow with our first pre season game, as we host Glasshoughton Welfare at the Wezzie, kick off is at the earlier time of 2:00pm
Pat and Blake have been very busy over the summer break retaining a large number of players from last season as well as making some noticeable additions to strengthen the squad, and tomorrow will present a first taste of what this new look side will bring to the table and what we can hope to see in the season ahead.
Glasshoughton currently ply their trade in Division 1 of the NCEL but will still pose a good first test for the Azzuri ahead of the new season season
So come along and get back in the mood for football ahead of the new season. Admission is only £5 for adults and £3 for concessions so what’s not to like?
We’ve also got 2 new recruits in the bar ahead of the new season as well as we add Somersby Cider to the lineup in both original and blackcurrant flavours. So why not come a bit early and enjoy a cold one before kick off as well
