From Whickham to Cleethorpes and many others in between, Frickley will make their final journey of 2022 to Silsden AFC for the latest NCEL fixture, once again kicking off at 1:30pm
However, it’s looking like another fixture that could fall foul of the cold weather, with a 4pm pitch inspection on Friday deciding it’s fate
Should the weather allow, the Azzuri will be back in action following a 2 week hiatus, where we lost 3-2 on the road at Garforth
Silsden, however, managed to take part in the only fixture that survived last weekends white out, and they’ll be happy that they did as they ran out 2-0 winners away at Hemsworth MW. This result leaves our hosts 5th in the table so another tough test presents itself
The reverse fixture in August was dominated by a late summer deluge, as goals from Keelan Grist and a Ben Hall penalty had us in a 2-1 lead. But two quick fire goals from Silsden in the last 10 minutes saw them snatch all 3 points and run out 3-2 winners
Should the game go ahead, Ian Clarkson is running a supporters bus which leaves North Elmsall at 10:30am and returns immediately after the game. Seats are £10 per person or £5 for U16’s and can still be booked by contacting Ian on 07790 569075
If you can’t make it, there will, as always, be the live commentary via Podbean which you can listen in to. Join us from 1:25pm
Let’s hope for a miraculous rise in temperature for one last jaunt in 2022 and get behind the boys on the road
