It’s a New Year and we’re on our travels for our first game of 2023 as we visit Winterton Rangers, kick off at 3:00pm
The match was originally due to be played back in September but was postponed following the passing of HM The Queen, meaning this is our first time facing Winterton in the league this season.
It’s not our first meeting of the year however, as the two sides met at the Wezzie back in October in the League Cup, with Winterton running out 3-1 winners against a much changed Azzuri, Kofi Appiah getting the consolation goal.
But it should be a different beast that travels to Humberside tomorrow following the confidence boosting 3-0 thrashing of Hemsworth MW last week, with goals coming from Lloyd Smith, Josh Haigh and Al Keita.
However, Winterton had a positive festive result themselves, running out 2-1 winners against Bottesford Town that saw them climb to 2nd in the league table so it should prove a very firm test.
There is a supporters bus running to the game, leaving North Elmsall at 12:30 and returning after the match, seats are £10 for adults and £5 for U23’s. If you’re interested, you can book a seat with Ian Clarkson by ringing 07790 569075. Or if you’re travelling on your own, there’s a map in the match centre.
If you can’t make it, we’ll be providing live commentary of the match on Podbean from around 2:55pm so you won’t miss any of the action
2022 finished with a flourish so let’s hope 2023 starts on the same note. Let’s get behind the boys on the road!!
