Hello again!! It’s been a while but I’m writing a match preview which can only mean one thing. That’s right, the summer break is over and football is back!!
It’s Pre-Season for 2024/25 and it starts with some Friday night football as we make the short visit to Club Thorne Colliery for our first friendly, kick off is at 7:45pm
It will be a first chance to see James Baxendale’s new look Blues side take to the field following his appointment a few weeks ago. Bax has been busy, alongside Matthew Flanagan and Andy Steptoe, assembling the team which includes some exciting new signings and some positive squad retentions from last season.
It’s definitely been another transitional period for the club following the end of last season with a large amount of last season’s squad departing the club. We wish them all the best for the future and the season ahead but are delighted to welcome the new lads who will be wearing a Frickley shirt this season!!
It will be a tough opener in the first friendly with Thorne keen to make a bright start to their campaign as well. They are newly promoted into the NCEL Division 1 after winning the Humber Premier League Title so will be full of confidence and will certainly provide a stern first work out for Bax’s Blues
So come along and get back into some proper non-league football as we gear up towards the next season. Be great to see lots of Frickley faces in the crowd at the start of a new era, your support on the road is always fantastic and we can’t wait to have you behind us again this season
