Preseason is in full flow as Friday Night football comes to the Wezzie. The visitors are last seasons NCEL Premier champions Emley, kick off is at 7:30pm
Bax picked up the first win of his Frickley managerial career on Tuesday night as the Blues edged out another NPL opponent, Sheffield FC, 2-1. Sheffield took the lead before first half goals from Josh Haigh and Luke Williams put Frickley in front. Both sides had 2nd half chances to extend the lead but neither could find the net and the game ended in a victory.
Now it’s obviously only preseason and we can’t get carried away, but it was a fantastic team performance on Tuesday night as Bax’s Blues look to be really gelling into a team that are easy on the eye. Hopefully more of the same tomorrow night!!
It will be another tough test for the lads as Emley are the visitors. They are preparing for life in the NPL after lifting the NCEL Premier Division title last season, beating Frickley both home and away on the way to that title. So it will be a good bench mark against performances from last season to see where we stack up.
