Weather permitting, it’s Friday night football this week as we travel to Emley for our latest NCEL league fixture, kick off is at 7:45pm
Obviously, given the adverse weather that we’ve had over the past couple of days, there’s a bit of doubt on whether the game will go ahead but as soon as anything is confirmed, we will let you all know.
It was the start of the Pat McGuire era last weekend as the Azzuri were edged out to a 3-2 defeat at home to Golcar. Overall, it was an encouraging performance, with two very well taken goals from Rich Collier and Lloyd Smith, and with another weeks training behind them, let’s hope for a promising result tomorrow.
Our host’s tomorrow evening are high flying Emley AFC, currently sitting 3rd in the league table. They progressed to the semi finals of the NCEL League Cup in midweek with a 3-2 win over Thackley, which followed a 3-1 win against Hemsworth in the league last weekend.
This will be our 3rd meeting of the season, with Emley coming out on top in both of the previous two, with a 3-1 to knock us out of the FA Vase being followed by a repeat score line in the league a few weeks later. Al Keita and Charlie Clegg with the respective goals in each of the two games.
