Recap

In 120 years from now, every current living person (& there’s about 8 billion of us!) will be dead……& we will all die wondering how on earth we didn’t win by a cricket score on Saturday

After the quality of Tuesday vs Penistone we were all hoping for more of the same – but the team seemed to be nervous, panicky & rushed everything – even after Bennett & Czubik got 2 goals in first half Fergie time to bring us back into the game

A wise man (John Watkin) once said to me ‘don’t get too carried away with the wins & don’t get too down with the defeats’ – good advice……which I’m going to ignore. At the end of this game we should have had 3 or 4 players arguing who was keeping the matchball, all having scored hat tricks. Instead we were all left frustrated having taken the 3 points, put them in a nice box, gift wrapped them & handed them over

It wasn’t one of those ‘bad day at the office’ games either – if we’d have had our scoring boots on we’d have won the game several times over.

You know that we like to take a positive from every situation – I’d prefer us to be creating chances & missing them than not creating them at all. Last season some games we’d create 1, maybe 2, half chances – we must have created or been gifted 20 clear cut chances but could only take 2

So we take our medicine & we can either put our chins on our chests or we can lift our heads up, stick our shoulders back & make amends next Saturday when we travel to Winterton

Here is what July / August Player Of The Month Lewis Binns had to say after the game

WEBMASTER MOTM – this one is a bit of a dichotomy as there were some decent performances yet we lost at home to a team who were winless. The defensive unit were strong for the most part. We were without Collier & the crucial Green in midfield so we were much changed but we did OK. The forwards got in all the right positions but couldn’t take the chances. But I’m giving the Glitterball to Kofi – did the business once again

TWITTER POLL MOTM – Lewis Binns continued where he left off in August & took the vote ahead of Kofi, Al Keita & Brandon Murillo. Thank you to everyone who voted

172 through the gate – thank you all for your continued support. As the mighty David Soul once sang ‘Don’t give up on us baby’!!
