Recap
Our boys went toe to toe with the well resourced top of the league NFU, only to have points stolen from them by an absolute whopper of a decision not to award a foul on Brandon Murillo which directly lead to the only goal of the game. Does the ref get an assist??? It was so obvious even the NFU players appealed for a free kick for Frickley….
It was a game where chances were at a premium – we had the better of them & we were left to rue our misses.
Couple of games recently we haven’t been 100% but we’ve won – yesterday everyone was on their A game but we lost – football eh……
I’m not going to spend any more time on the refereeing howler that cost us the game – last night was all about the performance, & what a performance the boys delivered. A good few of them were running on fumes at the end but they still never took a backward step.
There was a downpour during the first half which made the pitch a little skiddy & possibly affected the game – but not as much as the farrago of the missed free kick that I’m not going to mention
WEBMASTER MOTM – it would be easy to award it to the whole squad, as they all stepped up to the plate but I get paid a lot of money to make tough decisions – so I’m awarding the Glitterball to….the whole squad! I really couldn’t single out one player – every one of them went over & above
TWITTER POLL MOTM – this one is voted for by the fans & they CAN make their minds up…& leading the way is Brandon Murillo – the rock in a very solid back line. Tucked in behind him was George Green with Jake Hemingway & Keelan Grist behind him. El Binno also polled votes. The votes for September will be collated to give us a Player of the Month which will be revealed in the next few days. Thank you to everyone who has voted
The Gaffer sums it up better than I can
267 through the gate – massive thank you to everyone for backing the boys. Our average home attendance this season (league & cup) is 217 which is brilliant – let’s see if we can push that average even higher
Next up we are away to Thackley on Saturday – the supporters coach will leave North Elmsall at 12.45pm, £10 adults, £5 under 16s. To book your places, call / text Ian on 07790 569075 or DM @jpclarkson2 on Twitter
