Recap
A chastening & sobering afternoon at the Wezzie – or it could have turned you to drink depending on your frame of mind – the high spot was probably our U15s taking richly deserved applause for reaching a cup final at the Keepmoat on 1st May
6-1 actually flattered us – a mixture of Hallam profligacy & excellent stops by Golden Gloves HDH kept the score at half a dozen
We only started playing football with the introduction of Wade Ripley & pretty much his first touch was to dance through the Hallam defence & cross for Josh Haigh to volley home
No point dwelling on it – if you saw it you know how horrible it was & if you didn’t see it, then count yourself lucky
So, collectively we can all either cry & moan & clutch our pearls or we can stick our chests out, lift our chins up & get ready to go in to battle next Saturday
WEBMASTER POTM – despite the scoreline we can still see positives. Big Al ran his blood to water again. Binnsy gave it everything. Josh Haigh was lively & took his goal well & Wade Ripley stood out in his short cameo performance. But I’m giving the Glitterball to Jake Hemingway – he gave a very good account of himself on a torrid afternoon for defenders
TWITTER POLL MOTM – Wade Ripley takes it narrowly from Josh Haigh – goal maker & goal taker – & that feels right. Big Al tucked in behind them & Jake Hemingway behind Al. Thank you to everyone who voted
248 through the gate – including a good number who were here for the first time, I hope you will all visit us again. Thank you to everyone who came to the game
We are away to Eccleshill next Saturday – please come & back the boys
